I met Phil many years ago when I asked him to atemp the impossible or so I thought which was to pain my Jacket with a rather tricky Depecje Mode mixed design. I visited Whitby recently but I found out he had passed. Every concert I ever attended people wanted the Jacket which was unreal and unique Great artist and I NFI visual character Tony

Memories I will never forget.
I never knew phil as an artist, I knew phil because of my farther who was friends and obviously shared an interest in art as my farther was also an artist. I will never forget when I met phil, being just a boy and madly obsessed with the film Dracula. This man only fuelled my fire even more when he turned up in his long black leather jacket and announced he was a vampire, to which I presented to him a makeshift cross I had made from two pencils and asked him what he thought of that, to which he responded "I would tell you not to play with such dangerous toys" I remember he once showed me a picture of an article of himself in front of Whitby abbey imposed as Dracula. What a cool cool bloke. I remember my father cared deeply for him and they were great friends. I feel a connection to write this as I know how special it is to have a dad that is such a talented artist and father. But at the same time will be sadly missed, it was a rare and privileged opportunity to meet him. R.I.P fella.

My respects to Phil Bestford
This is sad news, I didn't realise. One hell of an artist and man. About 10 years ago Phil painted the back of my cut off with Eddie maidan and the number of the best album cover. Always kept it and was wondering if it would be possible to add it to the art work already on here?

Its got Phil's s signature at the bottom, that's how I know about him an his work. Shame to lose such a outstanding talent.

Phil always knew his time was precious and wanted as many people as possible to see and enjoy his art work. Consequently he gave almost all of his uncommissioned work away - often favouring it over his paid work (it was his own you see ;-)) If anyone has any of Phil's work they no longer want it would be much appreciated if you could let us know (not so much the "booby" naked ladies as I don't think Eve is too impressed with those, ;-)) I tracked the wolf jacket down via a Sheffield Charity Shop, EBay and then, obviously, down to a Charity Shop in Wiltshire... You can find me on Facebook or email@example.com. Thanks :-)
